Each year, a limited number of the most exceptional casks of aging Connemara are selected to become Connemara 12 Year Old Peated Irish Single Malt Whiskey. Bottled from a single cask and aged for at least twelve years, Connemara 12 Year Old Peated Irish Single Malt Whiskey is the only Connemara whiskey released with an age statement.
Connemara 12 Year Old Peated Irish Single Malt Whiskey has a strong peaty nose, more often found in Islay Scotch than other Irish whiskies. Notes of fruit join the peat on the palate. The additional time spent aging imparts extra spiciness and rich, woody undertones to the whiskey, expertly complementing the smooth malt and smoky peat flavors, leading to a strong, lingering finish. Connemara 12 Year Old earned the Double Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Sprits Competition, and earned a score of 94 points from the Beverage Testing Institute.
