Among the most beautiful climates of Pommard, “Les Rugiens” is divided into two parts, with that acquired by the Domaine in 2007 located in Rugiens Hauts, the most prestigious. This very sloping plot, exposed to the East and South-East, offers a predominantly limestone soil. Pommard, like Nuits, does not have any Grands Crus. Nevertheless, the Rugiens, alongside the Grands Epenots and the Clos des Epenots, are considered to be the best climates of the appellation. This wine embodies elegance and class, with exceptional aging potential.
Tasting Notes:
On the nose and on the palate, this wine offers a nice balance between aromas of black fruits and spices, with subtle woody and smoky notes. On the palate, it reveals all its power thanks to the increased presence of tannins, enveloped in a structure and a pleasant aromatic persistence.
