“A warm, inviting, and spice-laden bouquet brings you to a bright and complex spirit that shows tropical fruits of papaya and kiwi, with baking spices of canella and vanilla bean. The finish is medium-long, but quite complex, finishing on a pepper bite.” 94 Points 2021 Ultimate Spirits Challenge

“We slowly age our Añejo tequila in American oak ex-bourbon barrels for two to three years. This aging process imparts a stronger influence of oak but still allows the spirit to maintain the complexion of agave.”
The La Altena distillery was built in the mountains of Jalisco, Mexico in 1937. The unique atmospheric conditions at its high altitude gave the agave plants a higher sugar level that was ideal for making his 100% blue agave tequila. Today, Carlos Camarena—grandson of the founder, Don Felipe—supervises the harvesting of the mature agave and oversees the production of El Tesoro de Don Felipe to ensure consistency and quality.
