96% Cabernet Sauvignon , 2% Malbec, 2% Petit Verdot, 100% Rock Cairn, Oakville, 60% new French oak
“This wine offers a harmonious balance of rich dark fruit, blackberries, and plums with hints of violet, chocolate, vanilla, and spices with aromatics on the palate. Fined grain tannins frame the velvety mid-palate with a crisp, lingering finish. A wine well-structured and complex which will perfectly pair with grilled lamb chops.” Winemaker Kristi Koford
“Rock Cairn Vineyards is characterized by deep, gravelly loam soil with a western exposure. The vines produce highly concentrated fruit late in the season and are typically the last picks of our harvest. Five blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon separated by age reside on this site, ranging from 5- to 35-year-old plantings. This provides an opportunity for capturing characteristics that are specific to vine age, creating a perfect blend to express this valuable site. In this vintage, we have incorporated fruit from two of our other estate vineyards in Yountville and Oakville to complement this complex wine.”
