This Riesling opens with a pretty reductive, but for Mosel wine lovers, attractive bouquet with “sponti” notes (possibly deriving from the spontaneous fermentation) of crushed slate and fruits. Piquant and fresh on the palate, this is a round and slatey, crystalline, refined and salivating, salty Saar Riesling whose sweetness is palatable (and could be less for my personal taste) and gives a juicy roundness. Excellent. 9.5% alcohol.
“This is off-dry in feel with intense flavors of yellow apple and guava. It has a beautiful mouthfeel, just lacks a bit of a longer finish.” Wine Enthusiast 89 Points
