“The 2019 Bockstein GG is pure and stony on the bright and dusty nose the reminds me of the dust you get when you put the gray slate (or greywacke) stones to your nose. Clearly, this is the bouquet of an exceptional terroir. Round and filigreed on the palate, this is an enormously piquant, expressive, pure, finessed and salty Bockstein with a concentrated, piquant and salty finish. Tasted at the domain in September 2020.” Robert Parker 94 Points
Grosses Gewächs (“GG”) = A term of distinction used for dry, single-variety wines from Germany’s leading vineyards, known as Grosse Lage (equivalent to grand cru vineyards in France’s Burgundy region). These wines must be labeled with “GG,” their grape variety and the name of the vineyard from which they are made.
