40% ABV 700 ml, aged for 15 years in American Oak ex-Bourbon barrels, finished for 1 year in mayan ceiba barrels
Cihuatán Xaman is an ultra-premium rum fondly named after Xaman, Mayan god of the North Star and protector of the Cihuatán valley. This elegant composition features extra-old rums aged in American oak ex-Bourbon barrels and then finished in Mayan Ceiba barrels. Our Master Blender especially selected the unique wood of the Mayan Ceiba tree for its rich character and alluring profile. As part of Cihuatán Rum’s commitment to renewable resources, Cihuatán Xaman’s Gift Box will be crafted using FSC certified carton, which comes from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits.
Produced by Licorera Cihuatán, a subsidiary of Ingenio La Cabaña of El Salvador. This rum is made using a 100-year-old sugar cane mill. Licorera Cihuatán distillery was established in 2004 and began distilling and aging their rums. After fermentation the rum is aged in used American oak bourbon barrels using the Solera method.
El Salvador’s first rum, this spirit is handcrafted by 100% by Salvadoran hands. “Our rum’s mystical surroundings, our sugarcane and aging methods, mixed with our hard work and patience, give Ron Cihuatán 12 Years an unmistakable quality you can easily taste” (producer).
