80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petite Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Merlot, 3% Malbec
“This medium bodied Cabernet – driven blend has lush dark berry fruits with smooth, beautifully integrated tannins. Heady aromas of black cherry, cassis, ripe plums, with faint notes of vanilla and cocoa are nicely balanced with hints of spice and a long silky finish.
Sourced from two vineyards in Alexander Valley, with vines of an average age between 10 and 15 years old. Vines are planted in a major mixture of soil mostly rocky and mix of loam. The climate is Mediterranean warm with harvest beginning in late September, also experiencing a drought. After grapes are picked, they are placed in a cold soak for 4 days followed by 7 day fermentation with cultured yeast in stainless steel tanks. Wine is transferred to oak barrels (75% French Oak and 25% American Oak) for aging before bottling at end of November 2022.”
Made by Broadbent Selections.
Michael Broadbent trained as an architect before he became a winemaker
in England in the 1960s. He knew the importance of structure, balance and
beauty well before becoming a Master of Wine. His large legacy of art,
whether it be architectural, portraiture, landscapes or technical drawings,
gives a clear insight into his attention to detail. This wine is a tribute to the
legacy of our favorite Renaissance man – Michael Broadbent, artist, author,
musician, auctioneer and architect.
