“The name “Confiscated” pays homage to a warehouse of Kentucky Owl barrels lost in 1916. On the eve of Prohibition, utilizing the growing strength of the temperance movement, the government seized over $40 million of bourbon from then-Master Blender C.M. Dedman. Between the seized stock and the damaging effects of Prohibition, Kentucky Owl faded into obscurity.
Almost a century later, Dedman’s great-great-grandson, Master Blender Dixon Dedman, brought the brand back to life, and it was these long-gone barrels that inspired his latest release.
Dedman launched his first super-premium, small batch blend under his family’s historic label in 2014. In total, they’ve released eight batches of bourbon and two of rye, all bottled at barrel proof and available in small quantities only in Kentucky. Last year, after being acquired by Stoli Group, ground was broken on a new Kentucky Owl Park in Bardstown, KY.
“An important part of Kentucky Owl’s history is the seizure of all that inventory, which ultimately ended my family’s run in the bourbon business for the time being,” said Dixon. “Confiscated is a reminder of the opportunities lost and a celebration of C.M. The stock is constantly changing. It's not completely managed by us, as we're involved with several organizations, such as the factory and the storage. So the actual stock may alter at any time. Please be aware it's possible your order could run out of stocks once you've placed your order.
The policy is 30 days. If 30 days have gone without a trace since the purchase, unfortunately we can't offer an exchange or refund.
The item should not be in use and must be in the original packaging. The item should be returned in its original packaging.
